Our pharmacy is a vital and integral part of our practice at Village Veterinary Medical Center. It provides our clients and their pets with the latest technology, convenience, and the correct medications at a competitive price. Any prescription medication purchased from our hospital has been inspected and approved by the FDA and manufactured and packaged according to U.S. government regulations.

To refill many veterinary prescriptions and prescription foods, an annual examination, blood test, or other procedure may be required for your pet’s safety. For faster service, we recommend you call ahead with your refill request prior to pick-up.

If we do not have your pet’s medication or special diet in stock, we will gladly order it for you. Most medication orders arrive within 48 hours. Orders of prescription diets arrive on a weekly basis. We do try to stock all prescription diets according to your usage and needs, but please call a week before you run out of a prescription food to ensure we have what your pet needs on hand, minimizing any need to use an alternative diet.

A Note About Antibiotics

You may be aware of emerging disease threats such as MRSA, MRSI, and flesh-eating bacteria. We see these strains of dangerous bacteria in veterinary medicine as well. Therefore, we cannot fill requests for antibiotics without your pet being seen.

If a condition is not responding to antibiotics as it should, or if the condition is recurring, we may need to perform a skin, ear, or urine culture to check for possible antibiotic resistance. Underlying allergies and hormonal conditions also lead to recurring infections. Please be patient if your pet experiences these frustrating repeat infections and understand why we cannot simply refill antibiotics over the phone. Thank you for your understanding.

We makes our clients aware of any manufacturers’ promotions and rebates available, resulting in greater savings. Ask during your appointment or at the reception desk for more information.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers will only honor product guarantees when medications are prescribed by, and purchased from, your pet’s veterinarian. Please ask at the pharmacy about guarantees on Interceptor, Frontline, and all of our prescription diets.

Clients on our email list will receive special coupons from the manufacturer. We never sell or share our email list, but we are able to review all offers and decide if they are right for our clients before participating. If you are not receiving emails from us, please call so we may set up your account.

Pet Portals: Prescription Refills Delivered to Your Door

In addition to ordering prescriptions diets or medications online for home delivery, Pet Portal gives you convenient access to your pet’s health information. This is especially handy after business hours, when you are traveling, or during busy times. Your Pet Portal allows you to view your pet’s medical records, including:

  • Complete and current vaccination record
  • Exam status information
  • Accurate prescription history

As an added bonus, the Pet Portal gives you access to a library of pet health articles from veterinary experts.

Please consider visiting our online store via your Pet Portal for prescription needs and pet care products. The use of this store is available exclusively to our clients and is not open to the public.

We ensure the accuracy of dosage and instructions for all of our online prescription medications. In addition, there are several products available in the online store that we do not stock, such as a variety of heartworm preventives, dental care, various prescription diets, and flea control.

Products in our online store come directly from our distributor, ensuring these products have been properly handled and stored.
